Viewing Avast URL Blacklist on XXXImg.art

Jul202324

This is only of interest to you if you have issues loading images & thumbnails on this website. It seems bloatware snake oil program Avast (https://www.pcmag.com/news/the-cost-of-avasts-free-antivirus-companies-can-spy-on-your-clicks is triggering warnings on a site that is operating perfectly fine. XXXImg.art is simply just a domain where images and thumbnails are hosted, for whatever reason Avast has decided this site is not safe and added it to some sort of blacklist.

I’ve looked at the majority of public blacklists that are used by the majority of softwares out there and xxximg.art is not on any of them so i can’t really understand why avast decided to add it.

We are not in control of what these software decided to do in your computer, at this point id say most of these third party “security softwares” are more or less a security risk and very much a privacy risk, especially when they are free. Ask yourself, why would anyone code a program and give them out for free? If it is free then you are the product, they are selling your personal data and browsing habbits to third parties. If you value your privacy you should never use a free VPN or a free security software, they are all bad and spy on you to sell your data, that’s their business model, nothing in life is 100% free, just like this website isn’t 100% free, if we were 100% free, then i’d question our legitimacy too.

Anyhow… there’s nothing i personally can do about this blacklisting, my guess is that it will go away on its own once they realise its a mistake, but if you decide to continue using their software you can manually whitelist xxximg.art using this guide: https://www.minitool.com/news/avast-url-blacklist.html

That’s all, have a good day :)

Damn, i feel that personally since i use the free avast lol. But seriously, I’m just gonna upgrade to the paid service for it after this. Thanks for the help!

That is not recommended, if you are going to pay for antivirus choose a real antivirus vendor like Bitdefender.

Avast, AVG, Avira, Norton etc… These people are grifters, if you pay for their products you get no extra security, and they will still sell your data to third parties.

This happened with AVG too. The image domain got added to their blacklist and I solved it by adding an exception for the domain.

I dont care if I see the images, I just read the title and decide from that. So avast, avg, avira they can all go fuck themselves. They caused the virus problem to begin with so they could force us to buy their product.

for all Users of third party anti virus software: just deinstall it, if youre using windows, windows defender is really more than enough if you have a minimum of common sense.

@dummy46 re windows defender – just a heads up READ THIS if u own windows defender

This problem seems already resolved. I had that problem for like two weeks.
Or has anyone still got the bug with Windows Defender and some zip/rar-Files?

      • The Collector says:

no it comes and goes…. not sure why but probably due to limitations on how detection is done when archives are password protected…

Bumping this because it seems like its still an issue… ill try to contact this bloatware company to fix it.

Doing a little additional digging it seems that Avast is ran by the same goofballs that operate the following bloatware products:

      Norton, Avast, Avira, AVG, CCLeaner.

These once highly reputable products have been grasping for stravs to survive the last 5 years, they have essentially ended up with a business model where they promote free shit like “FREE ANTIVIRUS, FREE VPN” and then they just spy on their users and sell this data to third parties, that’s how they survive.

CCleaner used to be good but was bought by avast and you can read about their shady behavior here: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/stop-using-ccleaner-windows/

As you can see avast main focus is to capture data from its users, why do they insist that they want your data? Well because they sell your data. That’s how their business operates.

TLDR: Uninstall the bloatware: Norton, Avast, Avira, AVG, CCLeaner.

If you want real anvivirus, i can recommend Bitdefender, otherwise if you want something decent that is also free then use the built in windows defender.

talk shit all you want but avast has never let me down. only virus I ever got was using a paid program.

    • The Collector says:

how do you know it came from the paid program? :)

also yes many antivirus vendors that use to be good has now changed their business approach in order to survive.

third party antiviruses are widely not nescessary anymore due to the advancements in security that windows has built in, therefor they are now instead of actually giving you aditional security just spying on you and selling your data to third parties.

Hello, I now have the problem that I can’t download files from Tezfiles.. Avast shows me “api.tezfiles.com” URL:Blacklist.. on the Tezfiles page it says “connection refused”.. I hope that the problem will be fixed can.. i have been using xxx.collections.com for years and i have had avast for over 10 years… i have never had a problem..

    • The Collector says:

yeah i reported this to avast, and tezfiles, i have no control over what they are doing over at avast, at this point i think this is a targeteted attack by a copyright holder using antivirus to false flag websites and add them to the url blacklist.

the problem is out of my court though, xxximg.art should now be operational, as expected it was a false flag , avast never disclosed why the site was added to the blacklist to begin with but i have a feeling its pretty easy to manipulate that blacklist, maybe if you have a botnet you can install avast on 100 clients and then false flag any url to the blacklist and avast will automatically add it.

i have no proof of this but it seems very strange that first my sites are added then tezfiles too, there is no other explanation.

      • The Collector says:

Ok Avast replied now and removed Tezfiles.com from their url blacklist, again they never disclosed why this false postitive happened, my idea still stands, someone intentionally manipulated the blacklist of these “not so serious” anti virus vendors, let me know if issues continue

Why are posts and files disappearing from the site?? I went to download a file from Karina Gomez that I had wanted to download for some time and it disappeared from the site. Did something happen to the website or in particular? Or did something specific happen about the photo studio?
