You may ask why we are giving you warnings about security, aren’t security issues discovered all the time? The answer is yes, they are.. but this particular security issue could easily be used by various shady competitor websites of ours to push spyware or viruses onto your computers. We realize if you download from us you most likely download from many other sites which use zip/rar files too and that makes you particularly vulnerable to this security issue.

Since the proof of concept on how to elevate this exploit is now public knowledge it won’t be long before it starts spreading so please make sure you upgrade your winrar by downloading it from: https://www.rarlab.com/download.htm/ or stop using winrar altogether.

TLDR: upgrade your winrar installation or stop using winrar altogether and use 7zip instead.
