Viewing McAfee Phishing Warning from XXXImg.art

Jul202127

It appears McAfee (real shit software) has decided that our image host xxximg.art that does nothing but serve static images is now a phishing domain. This is obviously a false positive.

We’ve submitted a re-evaluation to McAfee regarding this, but for those of you that still use software from 1995 you have to whitelist xxximg.art if you want to see preview images.

That is all.

EDIT: Appears AVG/Avastt and others use the same database for phishing urls, we’ve submitted data to these companies regarding this false positive and hope to hear back from them soon to have this resolved, until then you have to allow xxximg.art as an exception or live without seeing preview images for the content you download.

EDIT2: Looks like its already resolved.

many use the same definitions, i cant do anything about false positives other then make sure there isn’t any issues and re-submit a re-evaluation.

Don’t use McAfee but my AV is telling me it’s a virus. Page must have installed something.

*** Unblocked it and there is a phishing virus attached ***

avg is free right? ill try installing it on a sandbox and see exactly what it complains about, there’s nothing there though

So tested AVG it spams about URL: Phishing but doesn’t give any details at all what is being “phished” and considering all the url calls are https i do not understand why this is happening. When adding xxximg.art as an exception everything works just fine, there’s no “virus attached”.

My belief is that this is a false positive, i have submitted the details to AVG and i hope they will give me more details on why there’s a phishing flag on this domain.

For now that is all i can do, there’s nothing malicious or phishing going on with xxximg.art, it is simply a domain serving static images to various sites, all via https fully encrypted.

For now that is all i can do, you have to white list xxximg.art if you want to see images.

The whitelisting works for Avastt. All thumbnails are back working for me.

looks like the problem is resolved, at least with AVG.
